Improv comedy is a form of stand up where the material is made up on the spot from audience suggestions. We perform a high energy show that is sure to entertain! Shows start at 50 $ for a 2 hour show!! The format is due to availability of performers but is guaranteed to between 4 and 6 players and a MC. Show length is completely negotiable due to your needs, and price is also negotiable for long or short shows. We have 2 show formats, a family friendly show, and an explicit show due to your age group and request. We do everything! Graduations, business parties, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs, frat parties, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, anything and everything! Troop Update

Hey everyone! We are still here doing our thing. Fresh off of our success at the Salvation Army Show at Uncommon Grounds we are still practicing and having a good time. We still offer our weekly workshop. We are still looking for new talent. Everyone is invited! It does not matter if you are a professional or have never done improv, if you have a good attitude and like to have fun than come and give us a try!

Hey comedy fans! We want to thank everyone who came out to support us for the show! We packed Uncommon Grounds with a bunch of fantastic people who came out in support of a great cause. Salvation Army Benifit Show!!!!!!!!!!!

Choking Hazard will be playing a benefit show for the Salvation Army this Saturday ( Feb, 26) at Uncommon Grounds on 25th street in Ogden. Choking Hazard will be preforming along with acoustic acts including Josaleigh Pollet and Spencer Reed. Tickets are $5 per person. Salvation Army will also be accepting additional food and cash donations. The doors will open at 6:00 pm begining with musical acts and ending with Improv. Please come out for a great cause, listen to great music, have a cup of coffee and get ready to laugh. Hope to see you Saturday !

Comedy Therapy

Improv is a release. Just like some people use drugs to get a rush, we decide to get up in front of a crowd and make fools of ourselves. One of peoples biggest fears is public speaking. More than dying, people are afraid of crowds. As humans we make our judgments of a person in the first 6 seconds that we meet them. Understanding this i could see why someone may think they are "not funny" enough to do improv. At the same time i can only say that perfection comes with practice. I only started doing improv last year, and now I help teach our weekly free classes. I have personally seen people with absolutely no improv or theater training become performance ready in less than 4 months. But that being said it does take a lot of courage to put your reputation on the line every performance. Becoming comfortable on stage only comes with experience. But once you crack that golden joke and have an entire crowd laughing with you, your hooked.

WSU Improv Update

Hey everyone! We are extremely excited to announce that we are now officially a Weber State University Club! We are extremely busy preparing our performance group and getting stage ready. We are working this week towards booking a venue for our first offiical show. We will announce within the next two weeks where the event will be held. Our hopes are to make this a benefit comedy bash food drive for the Salvation Army of Ogden. We are in talks with local band Fox Van Cleef playing at the show. It will be a great time for all so stay tuned for more information soon!

Character Development

Characters are an important tool for an improviser. Characters help us develop scenes and progress situations that have lost momentum. There are two types of characters, impressions and self creations. An impression is a replication of a celebrities voice and mannerisms. A self creation is a character base upon real life people or situations. For example a character named Minerva is played by WSU Improv member Devin. Minerva is an elderly woman who is not afraid to bring up old anecdotes to help an audience member in their life. Mission Improvable's member member Calvin plays a hardened convict who is working as a "scared straight" councilor and enjoys his job a little too much. Characters can come from anywhere. Inspiration can come from that guy who works at the grocery store, your friend who is always self rightous, or possibly your creepy uncle chad.
